Keighley Healthy Living Network has worked alongside other organisations to provide ongoing support groups for those with mental health issues. KHLN also runs therapy sessions with groups to help to maintain good mental health for people who may be socially isolated. These include:

  • Weekly support groups at the KHLN building in central Keighley, including The Out of Hours Project
  • Hosts a monthly Mental Health Cafe for older people
  • The Hospital to Home project run by Shoestring Theatre Company to give support during the transition back into the wider community
  • The KHLN Autumn 2006 newsletter focussed on local mental health initiatives
  • Therapy sessions with older peoples groups, including shoulder and neck massage

"Now some of the patients who have benefited in hospital are returning home. Through weekly sessions we can break down social isolation, encourage team working and provide emotional support to those living back in the community." Kala Sangam co-ordinator

"Its a great space to be at peace and express myself." Participant in KHLN group

The above initiatives were organised with Shoestring Theatre Company, Kala Sangam Arts, Mind, Airedale Hospital, Bradford Social Services - Health in Mind
